I haven’t posted one of my deals in quite some time, but I thought today’s shopping was worthy of such an honor.

Then I attempted to bring some food to Amanda, but the school couldn’t locate her. They thought she was at lunch, but they had the wrong class. Poor thing. She was not feeling well all day.

After the failed attempt to bring Amanda food, Megan and I headed up to Staples and the bank. This meant a trip up to Roanoke. I thought we might run a few more errands; we really had no big plans. I could have hit Walgreens, but it wasn’t a must. So, back to town and to the second CVS.

This has to be the best CVS trip for me yet. Hey, I spend my days with a dog and 18 chickens. You would get excited over this, too!

I did not think the ECB’s would go in the negative and cover taxes, but this is not the first time this has happened. I even asked the cashier how much was tax so I would give the correct amount in ECB’s. Hmm.

**I did not plan nor did I expect the Purex coupon to be credited at the full $8.99. Knowing it is allowed to use two coupons when you buy two items even when one item is free, I opted to use my free coupon and $1 off coupon to maximize my savings and limit my cost to 49¢. This was one of those unplanned happy occurrences.

I spent a good deal of time going through my coupons yesterday, separating the ones I need from those I need to organize, and tossing the expired ones. Then I looked through the ads to see if there was anything worth the effort this week. Today I mapped out CVS and Walgreens; tomorrow is Food Lion and Kroger. Both Amanda and Stephen came along for the fun!

** I thought the $2 ECB for the SoftSoap/Irish Spring was over, which is why I waited to use my raincheck from when the NutriSerum was giving a $4 ECB. Not sure if I was supposed to get both or not.

I received a $3 CRT for Revlon color cosmetics. The lipstick is running $7.99 and $8.99 and then you get a free nail polish. So, I may go back and get a $7.99 lipstick + nail polish, use 2 – $1/1 MQ and 1 $3/1 CRT and spend only $2.99 for both. I am mulling it over.

I pulled out my calculator (it always goes with me now), so I could determine how many ECBs I would need. Stephen looked at me funny. Amanda defended me. It was kind of cute. You never know when a deal is not going to work as planned; a calculator can really come in handy to make sure you do not over pay or lose too much in ECBs.

I have been finding the Slim Fast bars marked 50% off at all the CVS’ I have shopped. I bought a couple the other day, but still had coupons to use. We drove over to Radford today to check on Megan’s financial aid for school and wanted to scope out the local CVS. This was a really nice store and the cashier was super sweet, too! They had two boxes of the Slim Fast bars left and the label said they were $2.50 each. With my $1.25 MQ I was prepared. But it gets even better!

Megan and I attempted to get an early start. We dropped off Amanda at the high school for band camp (my little band geek) and I realized I had forgotten my little green coupon holder with my ECBs! The horror. So, we stopped for gas, picked up four newspapers, and drove home to retrieve my holder. Then it was off to CVS! YAY! Amazingly, we get there early and on a Sunday and some of the “free” items already are gone. Personally, I think they were not stocked (still in the back to be put out on display). That is okay. Tomorrow I will get rainchecks.
