OnOtherThings
Hi, I’m Anne and you can find me @AnneOnline on Twitter. I decided to create this page in an effort to put all of my online presences in one place. In November 2008 I had a wake up call. I had been working for an organization for a number of years but was unhappy for a majority of those years. In the end it was a blessing to lose that job and move on. If you want to know more about me check out my OnMe page or read one of my blogs listed below.
The first blog I started was AnneOnWriting. This name came into being recently as a way to identify my online presence, or brand, in one familiar format. This blog is my primary outlet for poetry and other writing I have done. I then went on to create a second blog, AnneOnCollege. With this I share some of my experiences as a returning college student. Additionally, I list scholarship opportunities and student discount information. I then created AnneOnLife. This is my personal blog. Here I write about my job interviews, new recipes, savings, exercising, and other thoughts and feelings on life. And if that were not enough, I went on to create a blog on parenting. You got it, AnneOnParenting. As the mom of three teenagers I thought it would be fun to create a blog about life with teenagers. Below I give a little preview of each of my sites.
- AnneOnCollege excerpt: The decision to return to school was not made lightly. There were certain criteria to be met: flexible schedule, accreditation (very important), and cost. Traditional college was not going to be an option for me. So I set my sights on online schools. This was not as simple as one might think.
- AnneOnLife excerpt: Oh joyous sticky buns with your cinnamon-y flavor and sticky gooey goodness. Yesterday was my first foray into the world of homemade sticky buns. Who knew the joy one could bring to her family by providing a special treat for the following morning. A cup of hot coffee and some vanilla soy with an ooey-gooey treat. Yum! Thank you Betty (Crocker) for the recipe.
- AnneOnParenting excerpt: Having two teenage daughters is a blessing and a curse. I really cannot complain. When I remember my teenage years and then I look at my daughters I am truly thankful they are who they are and not who I was. This is by no means to say I think they are angels; that would be far from true. No, they are human and not without flaws and they are special in their own ways.
- AnneOnWriting excerpt: Change – the one thing in life that is always constant. Makes sense, really. The weather changes; sometimes in the moment. One day you look outside and it is green and lush with vibrant colors of blue, pink, red, yellow. The next it is burnt orange, brown, mustard yellow, dark red. And then it is gone. The trees are bare; the flowers gone. Hot and humid, then cold and windy. It is quite inspiring at times and depressing at others. Change – you can not escape it.
Then I found Squidoo. On Squidoo you create pages called lenses. Here you can create a lens on anything you can think of from your favorite hobby to your pet to the charity of your choice or even to promote you online store or web site. Here are some of my pages.
I also created a hubpage on the Best Work at Home Job Boards. I have been to many and these have been the most helpful to me. I also show how to look for scams and finding out if working from home is right for you. It really is work. Most recently I shared my blind date story titled Worst Date EVER. Come on, you know you have a story too.
In addition to Twittering with me @AnneOnline, you can find me on FriendFeed, Facebook, Digg, Stumble, and Technorati. So, there you have it. Feel free to leave a comment, list your blog, Twitter name, etc. Ciao!

I try to post a comment at your AnneOnWriting site on your NaNoWriMo post but I keep getting the “just a moment” box and doesn’t seem to go anywhere, so here was my comment:
I think it’s a wonderful challenge but at times a bit overwhelming. best of luck to you and I hope you try to enjoy the process.

Hi lissa,
I posted your comment on my other blog to the post you referenced [as a guest]. Sorry it was not cooperating with you.
My goal is to write something even if I don’t reach the 50,000 goal. I don’t want to discourage myself, but am hoping it jars something [good] lose.
