@Heather Kephart, Megan’s the crafty one in the family. I lose interest too quickly, although I would love to learn how to knit. I have had such a hard time finding those little sweater wraps to wear over sundresses and really think there is an untapped market there. All the pretty colors and designs that could be made.

@Anne Bender, I enjoy knitting, but get frustrated with dropped stitches and switch to crochet, which I love, and should probably get back to. But it was either that or writing and whatnot. Maybe after we’re published and our kids are in their own apartments we can take up crafting.
I think of DIY as doing it yourself around the house – home repair, remodeling, etc. I guess I had the wrong context here! Doy! Thanks for the tip on the giveaway!

@Heather Kephart, I think for these gals it’s more about the crafting. Dwayne does the home improvement DIY stuff here, but he’s been so busy with work it’s all he can do to keep up with the regular stuff – chickens, garden, mowing, fixing, etc. I don’t mind painting a room (a small room and only 1 cause painting is not as fun as I thought it was when I was 10).
Kids, family, books, then crafting (if there is time). Speaking of books, congratulations on finishing your first (?). I’m sure it will be great and any polishing will just make it even more sparkly. Can’t wait to put it next to Holly’s 2 on my bookshelf (after I read it, of course).

@Heather Kephart, I think you said something on Facebook about finishing and submitting to your critique group. Even online I’m a wallflower just watching people.
Thanks for reminding me. There is a submission to one country living type magazine I’ve been meaning to do. I’m pretty sure the deadline is August, but no time like the present. I do have another piece I need to get together for my mom. I have the love letters my grandparents exchanged when they were courting. I figure it will be mostly their letters with some commentary from me and a picture here and there.
