I was inspired to try my hand at making my own nut butter for two reasons. First, I am cheap. Seriously, I’m a little better about spending money on good food today, but there was a time when I truly felt it was a waste of money to spend a lot of money on food. So, paying upwards of $10 for nut butter is a bit extravagant. Second, I really don’t want to support companies that are more in it for themselves than the people they want to buy their products. Just check out this “prize” Rachel won.
Why cashew butter? Well, I have peanut butter. And I have almond butter. So, it only stands to reason I would want to try cashew butter next. I made mine with 1 cup roasted, unsalted cashews and canola oil. And check out this cute jelly jar. It’s about 3/4 full of yummy homemade goodness.
