St. Augustine
It’s been too many years since I last visited St. Augustine. I was a little girl then, vacationing with my family, finding the fountain of youth. I have often thought of returning. This time much older, but more able to fully appreciate the beauty of this city.
Did you know St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States? Still keeping in touch with its past while moving forward into the present, St. Augustine has something for everyone.
Stay at Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast for a low as $99 a night. Originally constructed between 1883 and 1885, the Carriage Way was quite prominent. In the 1940s, the house was converted into apartments, then in 1984 was restored to its original glory and is now a premier bed & breakfast.
Maybe a bed & breakfast isn’t your style. Then why not check out the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. This 300 acre oceanfront beach resort, built in 1928, is a great way to enjoy a little rest, relaxation, and romance.
I’m a bit torn. I love the idea of a bed & breakfast, but after seeing the view of the beach from the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club I’m feeling somewhat drawn to it. Choices, choices. What do you think?
Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast?
or Ponte Vedra Inn & Club?
Not easy, is it? And there are so many more choices at http://www.romanceliveshere.com.
Itinerary, sort of…
I’ve never been one to plan vacations too stringently, but there are a few of the must see and do things for when I next travel to St. Augustine:
Castillo de San Marcos, an old and fearsome prison.
Doesn’t look all that scary to me.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum.
Do you remember the TV show? Crazy!
The beaches! A must for any romantic trip to Florida.
And doesn’t that just look gorgeous!
St. George Street and the old market.
The Oldest House & maybe even take in a little Outlet Mall shopping.
Even a little romantic bike riding.
Guess this means the kids are definitely staying home.
