February was very kind to me.
I entered several giveaways and won many of them. How exciting!
First, I won a Flirty Apron from Connie at BrainFoggles. She can tell you how much I wanted to win this. I think I entered every way possible and then some! I got to choose my apron and opted for a something to brighten the gray days of winter – Original Sweet Sunshine.
Funny side note – we figured out my best side was me looking away from the camera!
Next it was a Slice Safety Cutter from Deidre at Cuckoo for Coupon Deals. This is such a neat idea. A ceramic blade that is safe enough to run your finger over, yet powerful enough to cut through 5 sheets of paper! Being the frugal shopper that I am, this will be a great time saver for me.
I also won some wonderful handmade produce bags from Katie at Katherine’s Corner. I always use reusable shopping bags, but like so many others I tend to not have anything to conveniently carry my produce. Katie solved that for me.
And last, but most certainly not least, I was one of two winners of 6 months free blog hosting [and domain registration] courtesy of Rose at Rose DesRochers – World Outside My Window and Shawn of visionthishosting. Since I already had my domain, I just migrated it from its Blogger home, gave it a new name, and streamlined my site. Please check out my new and improved writing site – one writer’s provenance.
THANK YOU
to all of these wonderful people
and sites for their generosity!

I found out that in Australia, chickens are called “chooks.”
Isn’t that interesting?
Maybe that says more about me than about Australia.

@Dave Doolin, Them crazy Aussies and their funny words.
I was watching the big guy up front as he has a tendency to peck and making sure none of the others thought my toes were food.
Of course you know I had to go look into the whole history of the word chook. Wonder what that says about me.

@Jamie, Thank you, Jamie! I think this was my second time trying to win one. Connie said she got excited when she saw it was me who won. I really wanted this.
It will get many, many years of good use, too.

Congrats to you on your great month, Anne. Love the apron also, but I have to admit that I didn’t know women still wore aprons, as I haven’t seen one in ages. Now that I think about it, my mother never wore one; interesting. I might have to ask her about that one of these days.

@Mitch, I don’t think many people do wear aprons anymore, but they are trying to make a comeback. Now if I can just get in the habit I would wear it every day.
