@Heather Kephart, One step at a time. It's all we can do. Whenever I try to tackle too much at one time something always seems to get missed, then I get discouraged, then I stop. Now I just take it one at a time and one day at a time.
I have a goal of getting dinner on the table between 5-6 pm. We ate after 7 pm twice in the past week. No big deal. Today we sat down at 6. I made it to the gym 3 times since I joined last week and plan to go at least 3 days a week [even though it's marked at a Monday-Friday task]. Can't beat ourselves up for every little thing. We are only human after all. I know I am far from perfect. And, I kinda like it that way. ;)

@Jack, Hi Jack. It's funny how this post turned out as it started out in a completely different manner. Amazing how we start with a thought and it blossoms and then it's a list on being happy. ;)

@MinnieRunner, That is great to hear! :)
I laugh every day. It really does work your abs, too. My daughter, Amanda, joke about starting the 'laughter workout' ~ Laugh your way to flatter abs.

Anne, what a brilliant post! I'm going to Stumble and Tweet this. I will even need to return to it regularly myself. Too much to mention, just good, sound advice. We are so much on the same wavelength and have a lot of the same issues to tackle, and you know, most (not all! especially in your case) of the issues we bring upon ourselves. That just makes me feel worse about myself, and beat myself up more, etc. Maybe if we just let ourselves off the hook and promised ourselves to be better now that we know better? And good for you for joining a gym! I used to go to the gym all the time loooooong agoooooo. As for now, I'm hoping to start (next week, I'm not ready yet) with a healthy eating plan, then move on to exercising outside before the kids get up, then taking a shower and doing my hair and makeup like I'm going out for the day even if I'm not. That helps. I so need help on the money front. It seems overwhelming. Maybe if I just start with really small things, allow them to be entrenched, then add more. Hmm... ((((((Anne!))))))) Oh, I'm blathering. .-= Heather Kephart shares some words of wisdom ..Reality check, please! =-.

I definitely agree with the 1st item in your "to rid myself of" list. As for me, I already learned to stop proving myself to people not worthy of - for they would always say NO. Yes, LAUGHTER is the BEST medicine! I'm a living proof as well :) Endorphins? Hmm, probably that's the reason why I felt good after crossing the FINISH line in each and every race taht I joined. I agree with that - Water Theraphy! WOW! I salute you for being able to manage your money well. This is something that I really have to work out on. Yes, we cannot please everybody. I am trying to put this one in mind everyday =) DEFINITELY HAPPY!!!

Good for you. Happiness is a key ingredient in the recipe for a good life. "Overly caring what others think of me." I do that too often. .-= Rose shares some words of wisdom ..Faking Death Online =-.

@Sire, Of course I had to read the story. I knew a girl who had sex with her husband every day [sometimes more than once]. It was like doing the laundry or making dinner. Just another part of the life. I don't know the dynamics of their 'time' together, but to me it sounded routine and a bit boring. Maybe it wasn't. But the idea that it was an obligation troubled me. Guess it worked for them, because although they divorced, they remarried a few years later and are still together today.
