Free Binders @ Staples + Other Goodies

Staples BindersNot a lot gets me excited. Okay, that’s a lie. I get excited about way too much crap, but seeing this offer in my inbox made me a little giddy. I know, I know ~ DORK! With three teenagers you can imagine how they go through those cheap crappy binders that go on sale in the summer right before school begins. So, to be able to get good quality heavy duty binders for them for FREE, well, that is cause for posting!

Starting January 3 through January 9 you can buy [up to 4] Avery Heavy Duty View Binders [my ad says it includes ANY, meaning any size?] and get back 100% of the cost in Staples Rewards.

I know, you’re saying that’s not really ‘free’. Yes, you do have to have a Staples Rewards Card [ask your cashier for one if you don't have one] and you have to wait to get your reward, but you can spend your reward on a future purchase.

Let me explain

Last summer I bought Amanda a new book bag for school from Staples. The full purchase price was credited to me in the form of a Staples Rewards check and sent to me in early November. This check also included a percentage of ink and paper purchases for the previous quarter. I then learned about the free Duracell battery offer. I could have really stocked up here, but was quite lazy and only did this deal once. I’m not complaining. I took my rewards check and bought two packs of 20 batteries and a travel mug/warmer. All of this cost me a little over $8. I used one of my many [free] Visa gift cards therefore paying nothing out of pocket.

Lots of $1 Deals, Too

Pens, pencils, scissors, paper, and more. Yep, just one dollar each. Many of these items are $1 at the register, but a few are after Easy Rebate. Don’t let that stop you. When Staples says easy, they mean easy. Enter your information and track your progress online. The entire process takes up to 8 weeks to allow time for returns.

This is a great way to stock up on school or office supplies without a lot of cost out of pocket. The also have good copy and photo paper through this deal. See, and you thought it was too expensive to print your digital photos from home. To see more, just check out the ad.

Anne, I think that these days you have to take every opportunity to save money as well as to earn it. What’s the point if you spend all that you earn by buying the most expensive items or by not looking for savings. It’s only by saving money that your savings actually grow.

Thanks for the link Anne, it’s really appreciated.

@Sire, You’re most certainly welcome. Since being out of work I have really learned a lot about shopping and the availability of free or really inexpensive items [and not the store brands or 'cheap' stuff either]. When I do find a job again I will be able to make less and still live large [or make more and save more while living on less]. Now to get this blog to be self-supporting. ;)
