Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow ~ Please

We have a 60% chance of snow Friday night and continuing into Saturday, although Amanda is hoping it will fall tonight and start their Winter Break one day early. :)

On December 5th we received this flurry of snowfall. It lasted all of 20 minutes, if that, and nothing stuck! What is up with that?! We want snow, damnit! Something that will stick to the ground and give us a reason to break out our sleds. The hill awaits and we are ready. Plus, I am curious to see how the chickens manage on the slick ground. Yeah, probably a bit sadistic, but could make for some funny video shots. ;)

    @Hesham @ FamousBloggers,

    You were much luckier than me last week, Hesham. We only had this flurry of snow falling, then it quickly turned to rain. But it looks like we will be getting lots and lots of snow this time around. :)

    It’s been awhile since I’ve seen snow. I’m amazed that none of that stuck. What was the temp outside? Also, what was that red building?

    @Sire,

    I’m not sure of the temperature that day. It’s all good though, since we’ve gotten about 4 – 5 inches now and we’re expected to get about 10 – 14 inches. We even made national news in the States. :) The sleds are ready and we will be hitting the hill tomorrow.

    The red building is about 1/2 shed, 1/4 open area [we've kept our john boat in there previously] and 1/4 chicken coop.

    I can send some snow you way. We always get lots up here. I’m not a Winter person at all.

    @Rose,

    I really miss South Florida myself, but love to go sledding with the kids. Roanoke, VA made national news tonight [NBC] and we’re just southeast of there. We’re getting lots of snow now. :D

    Had a touch of snow, eh? Well, we won’t go into comparisons of annual snowfall; wouldn’t be fair. lol

    Wow Anne, that is where you live? SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I was hoping to hear a commentary by you a’la…

    “Oh now would you look at those big fluffy white flakes? Kind of like God has dandruff… huhuuhuhuhuhuh…wow, they’re so white! And fluffy! Or is it fluffy and white?”

    (OMFG I was just typing my nick into the Twitter spot down there and at the last second I noticed I’d typed “Jappymaker”!)

    @Heather Kephart, Yeah, this is our little slice of rural life. I’ll dig up some pictures of the old schoolhouse out back. One day I hope to restore it and make it a library, but it needs a new foundation and lots of work [and money].

    Hmmm, Jappymaker? Uh, lol. :D

    I miss snow :( It adds to my winter depression. Last year we went to Colorado in January, there was plenty of snow. I’ve already decided I MUST move to Breckenridge at some point in my life.

    @Extreme John, I love the snow, but miss the ocean so much it’s almost painful. My dream is to move to the Keys. Problem with that is even if I could afford the house I couldn’t afford the taxes and insurance. Although I would miss the change of seasons. {sigh}

    I love snow, although the only chance I get to play with them was last year when I had a trip to Korea. :-) I would love to have a white Christmas again someday. Probably not in Malaysia or something is incredibly wrong. lol…

    You are still lucky for having to see 20 minutes of snow fall.. Happy holidays!

    @Ching Ya, We don’t get too much snow where we are, but definitely get more than when we lived in South Florida. :) It’s nice to see some change in the seasons.

    Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays to you, too!

    @Tinh, Maybe one day you will. It is fun to experience at least once, but I do miss the days when I could wear shorts outside on Christmas day.
