Anne, I can't complain... the coldest temp I have experienced so far was 14C up at Baguio City where early in the morning I had to do my thing and sat on a cold seat. I know, 14C isn't that cold, well for a tropical behind such as mine, it was more than I am used to. So, anyway, I managed to answer nature's call and did my other business. The other call of nature isn't that difficult, although I agree that keeping the seat up takes a lot of hard work because of some stubborn seats. Z

@Holly Jahangiri, Oh, my! Not sure I would like a stainless steel toilet seat, but since I'm so anal [no pun intended] about not sitting on public toilet seats this would not be too much of an issue. When I was much younger we would go camping/canoeing and us girls [all two of us] would have to find a concealing bush or just use the river. Good thing these were just weekend excursions. ;)

You'd hate camping at some of the parks around here. Imagine this: You've pulled yourself, reluctantly, from your tent to answer Nature's call. It's about 40 degrees outside, if that. Being a woman, you can't just offend the nearest tree - you need a touch of civilization. You find it, open the stall door, and - oh, God in Heaven - the entire toilet, seat and all, is made of stainless steel. Do they make a HEATED toilet seat?? That could be fun. I always wanted one of those clear Lucite seats with the barbed wire embedded in them (it just SOUNDS painful - but it is an ordinary seat). Or goldfish, like those shoes Heather and I covet. I followed the hand-crafted links from Sire's delightful Journey to Bloggersville post. .-= Holly Jahangiri´s last blog ..In-context Links?
@Anne, OK, I get the picture now. In that case your best bet would definitely be a nice wooden seat. Just make sure you check for splinters. ;) .-= Sire´s last blog ..Has Your Blog Content Been Stolen? =-.

@Sire, The lifting of the seat isn't the problem. It's the keeping up of the seat while you guys do your business. Those seats tend to want to fall which would explain why we don't have one. ;) I'll have to look into a wooden one.
