My mom, step-dad, brother, and his family are spending Easter together in Florida eating turkey, while my family will spend it in Virginia this year. I am pretty sure they went with turkey for cost reasons. That and my brother said they have been eating ham for a week already. My family will be having our traditional ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, biscuits, and anything else available and desired. This year will be like last with me, Dwayne, the three kids – Megan, Amanda, & Stephen, Megan’s boyfriend, and their friend Jesse. We have not seen Jesse for awhile so this is a nice surprise.
While the kids played frisbee and catch, DH and I peeled potatoes outside on the back stoop. And now the kids are at a local park while we finish dinner preparations. I was beginning to feel a little sad about missing another holiday dinner with my family in Florida and now I get to enjoy it with my family and the kids’ friends instead. Not too bad a trade, I think.
