I had a late start yesterday. The second CVS I shopped was getting ready to close and I was still browsing. As soon as I realized this I headed straight to the cash register. Wanting to get a few extra papers, my eldest child, Megan, and I decided to take a trip to town. First we stopped to get gas and a couple of newspapers. DH already picked up one paper, so I figured two more would be sufficient. Especially since my mom has been sending me her coupons each week. We headed to the first CVS, the one I usually shop, and picked up a few items. A couple of things to note. I figured my scenarios based on starting with $5 in ECBs. On my way out the door I realized I had a total of $8 in ECBs. I purchased 2 Dry Idea deodorants feeling this was a good deal regardless of the limit of 1 on the ECB deal, but received 2 ECB deals for this product. Furthermore, my receipt does not state I have reached my limit for this deal. This may be something others want to explore.

The last two transactions were supposed to be one transaction, but the cash register would not accept two $1/2 Pantene coupons in one transaction. I do not feel comfortable conducting more than two transactions at one time and, as it turned out, the second CVS had a better selection on the Pantene. Additionally, the second CVS has a coupon scan thingy and it was working today. This is how I obtained the $1/2 Gold Emblem candy CVS Q. I am unable to find the booklet in any of the pharmacies. They have February’s out, still. And it is a good thing I do not have that big of a sweet tooth, except for the many oranges I have been scarfing down lately!
I am thinking our stockpile is growing with shampoos and soaps and such and suggested to DH that we consider sending a care package to his kids (19 & 20 years old). My mom always said “charity begins at home”. Both of them are just starting out in life and can use any help they can get. I remember those days.
