I have been struggling to find a good pizza dough ever since misplacing my recipe some time ago. I tried one that was complete flop. Oh, it was edible, but it was not a repeater. Then I found a simple recipe in my Betty Crocker cookbook. This one is good in a pinch. There is no need to let the dough rise which adds to prep time. I will keep this one on hand for nights when a quick meal is needed.
About a week ago I found my personal cookbook. This was given to me by my Aunt many years ago. I put all kinds of recipes in here. Mostly recipes from my mom that I wanted to have for future reference. In this I placed my pizza dough recipe. Oh joy, oh joy! Oh happy day! This also held my sauce recipe, but I sort of remembered it. I am not one for measuring and I could estimate how much basil and garlic and such for the sauce. But the dough, that is completely different.
We are no longer privileged to have pizza delivery service or even nearby carryout. It is twenty minutes to the nearest pizza establishment and with no employed persons in our household it is not prudent to eat out. Store bought pizza is okay, but homemade is better. Oh, and it is much cheaper, too. I buy the tomato sauce & mozzarella cheese when it is on sale. I picked up Kroger brand tomato sauce for 25¢ a can this past week. It will take about 2 cans per 2 pies. And, now I can resume buying brick mozzarella thanks to my new to me vegetable/food slicer attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. Thanks goes to DH for finding this at one of out local Goodwill stores. We paid $3.99 for a $40 attachment. Score!
I was checking out the price on unsliced pepperoni at the store thinking I may be able to slice it as well. It still is less expensive to buy it pre-sliced. I bought the store brand on sale. Okay, now I am thinking pizza for dinner. Hmm. Choices, choices. I think I will hold off on the pizza until later in the week. But this time I get to use my favorite dough recipe. YAY!

I love homemade pizza. We eat it often and only have pizza out about once or twice a year!! I know what I want for dinner tonight!! LOL!!

We love homemade pizza. It is so simple to make and the cost is minimal compared to eating out or buying a frozen pie. And it tastes so much better!
