Are You Ready For Some Football?

in 3-D

Or were you just there for the commercials?  Come on, you know the ones advertisers pay big bucks to make and air.  Surprisingly we were there for both.  All of us were for the Steelers except the boy (not pictured).  Stephen wanted to cheer on the underdog and he almost saw the upset of the year, thus far.

We started our Super Bowl Sunday at 5:00 p.m. with an old episode of Wipeout on ABC.  If you have not seen Wipeout you are missing the dumbest show on television!  And I absolutely LOVE it!  If you like The Three Stooges or movies such as Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, then you will find the humor in Wipeout.  Read more on our fun with Wipeout on my Twitter Moms page.

Of course the commercials made for a good time.  We had our 3-D glasses and used them.  Some commercials seemed to come to life in 3-D even though they were not part of the scheduled 3-D lineup.  These 3-D glasses seemed to be a better quality than some I have had the displeasure of wearing in the past.  They were comfortable over my glasses; this is important.  I do want to see Monsters vs. Aliens since I am just a really big kid at heart.

And what about that game!  Seriously, a touchdown by landing on one’s head, that is dedication.  Amanda, in the orange, started cheering.  The rest of us were getting excited via her.  She is usually not this animated, especially for a sport she barely understands and does not follow.  And what about that final touchdown in the last 35 seconds of the game.  Football really is a game that is not over until it is over.

Today is Imbolc (or Candlemas).  Imbolc is the Festival of Lights when we cleanse and purify to make way for the new and welcome the approach of Spring.  It may seem so very far off, but winter is winding down and the onset of Spring is right around the corner.  So take a moment today to reflect on nature and the coming of the flowers, fruits, and leaves on the trees.

I was a little dissapointed with the outcome, since some of my heckling friends are steeler fans. Overall it was a great game. The commercials have been better. The one that the two guys won a million dollars from doritos was pretty good.
