And Now For Something Completely Different

I will keep it short and sweet tonight.  I made homemade pizza this past weekend.  I used to have this pizza dough recipe that worked just fine and I would get four large pies from two batches.  This worked great since my family is not small, there are five of us, and we love pizza.  I have no idea where this recipe has gotten off to so I have been on the hunt for a new recipe.

I tried one that was a complete flop.  After careful review I discovered the problem, time.  This was a recipe you prepare long before you use it.  I am used to making and using my dough on the same day.  I ditched this recipe and the hunt began again.

This past weekend I used a super simple recipe from my very worn Betty Crocker cookbook.  Not only was is make and use the same day; it was make and use within minutes.  There was no rise time.  Sounded interesting.  Again I made two batches.  One batch was said to make two 12″ pies.  I was able to get three 16″ pies and two adorable mini pan pizzas.  Check these out!  I used some heart shaped cake pans.

Is that not the cutest pizza ever?  Now, this recipe is good if you are looking to make some decent pizza within a limited timeframe.  Also note the 16″ pies were good, but the crust was ultra thin.  I do not mind thin, but the mini pan pizzas were tastier with just a bit more crust.  Now, the crust was thin but tasty.  I would give it 4 stars and would recommend either smaller pies or fewer large ones.

Now it is time to tend to tonight’s dinner: meatloaf.
