Will it be Door #1 or Door #2?

I haven’t written much lately on how my job search is going.  There is a good reason for this, too.  Very little is happening.  Let’s see.  Back in November I was contacted about a bookkeeping position that happens to be right down the road.  This is extremely rare in a rural area such as where I live.  I was told I would receive a follow up call the following week, if they were interested.  About a month later I did receive that follow up call.  It came in at 8 pm and I did not pick up.  I was not sure who it was until listening to the message.  Then after the holidays I received a return call.  I was interviewed for almost an hour.  Again, it was a night time phone call.  This time the call came in at 7 pm.  Again, I was told I would hear back in a few days.  I am still waiting.

Next there is the part time position.  This one is about an hour away from home and is a two-day a week job processing accounts payable.  I am not opposed to this as it gives me the rest of the week to blog, find other work at home opportunities, and spend time with my family.  I received a call and interview the week before Christmas.  During the interview I was told they would make a decision and let that person know either that Friday or following Monday.  Nothing, until two days ago.  I was called in for a second interview.  I drove the almost-hour drive for a ten minute interview where the interviewer was unprepared.  She had not read my resume, which she admitted.  If she had, she would have known the answer to the “do you have any accounts payable experience” question.  Only about 15 plus years.  Not to mention my experience in receivables, payroll, taxes, computers, etc. etc. etc.

No worries.  When the right position comes along I will be here waiting.  In the meantime, I will be blogging, tweeting, and other forms of self-promotion.  Oh, not to mention the who school thing.  Yes, I am still on the Dean’s List.  Woo Hoo!

Thanks for listening.
